Your Company Isn’t Slow. It’s Scared.
A blunt look at why companies that call themselves cautious are often just afraid to move in the AI era.
Tech is moving at a speed most boardrooms can’t even comprehend.
In the online trenches where I often am, you see crazy nerds popping up an army of sub-agents. Dozens of agent nodes planning, testing, reviewing, building and then reviewing again. All controlled by cracked 10x devs who know exactly what they are doing. They know exactly where AI falls short (see context engineering), and that’s where their real work begins.
These people are “single-handedly” building complex distributed systems, products that would take a company 1-2 years: roadmap planning, rounds of stakeholder alignment, sprint planning, reviews and a multi-person cross-functional team, now done in 2 months by some cracked dude who spends too much time on Discord, Reddit and Github.
It’s AI amplified assisted development. Once the baseline is complete, they spend the rest of their time hardening what A.I. missed, they build iteratively and fast, patching edge cases that A.I. did not foresee, they document their decisions.
It sounds like exaggeration but it isn’t, you’re just in denial, and you’re not there to see it.
They don’t care about your opinion or your doomsday articles. They are succeeding and converting users and customers, while you’re stuck singing happy birthday to a POC/MVP.

These people do not care about your internal memo on “AI strategy”. They’re not reading cautious LinkedIn think-pieces about whether AI is “ready”. They’re iterating daily, and compounding their advantage while you’re still scoping your pilot program.
The gap between companies that move and companies that “evaluate” is no longer a gap. It’s a canyon. And it’s widening every week.
This isn’t a post about AI.
It’s not FOMO, you won’t miss out. You have a choice, sink or swim.
